Parent Education

Parent Education

Throughout the year the school offers opportunities for parents to become more informed on the educational activities at the school as well as become contributors to the development of curricula. Some such activities include: open classrooms and curriculum evenings.

Open Classrooms

Open classrooms are the times in which parents are invited to attend the classroom of their child to see a class in progress, become familiar with the delivery of PYP curriculum, and have a first hand view of their child’s progress.

Curriculum Evening

The curriculum evening takes place twice a year and is an opportunity for parents to understand in depth the curriculum and collaborate with teachers to form meaningful foci. In the 2009-10 school year during the first curriculum evening parents had the opportunity to engage in learning experiences which helped them to better understand the bilingual context where their children are developing as bilingual or even multilingual learners. The second evening will focus on math across the curriculum.

Please see the school calendar for upcoming parent activities.
