Early Years
What does Play English offer?
Play English is the name of our Early Years section (ages 1-5). This part of the school is run as a Dual Language Immersion model. The language of instruction follows a 50/50 language imput model (50% in English 50% in Italian).
In the 1 to 3 years old section (Day Nursery), we implement the High/Scope (http://highscope.com/) approach which is enriched by the Reggio Emilia (http://zerosei.comune.re.it/) practices.
In the Pre-school (3 to 5 years old) we implement the International Baccalaureate curriculum – Primary Years Programme (IBO-PYP) which is an inquiry based curiculum. The children are active learners, in a well organised and structured learning environment, where teachers support and extend their learning through activities based on the Units of Inquiry which encompass children’s interests and enhance every aspect of their development. Teachers record children’s growth in these areas using an ongoing system of pupil observations and documentation and share these with parents during parent-teacher conferences, pupil-led conferences and through pupil report cards and portfolios.
The school is housed in a recently renovated building, walking distance from Monza Park and the centre of Monza, in a quiet residential area with ample parking facilities.
In addition Play English offers:
- Day Nursery (ages 1-3): attendance full time or part time

- Atelier (an Art Workshop) where children work in small groups with a specialist art teacher, inspired by the internationally recognized schools of Reggio Emilia
